Vintage FarFan Mexico Necklace Sterling Turquoise Parure 40s - Set
This gorgeous three piece Parure set consists of a necklace, bracelet and earrings. It is signed on the necklace and bracelet Hecho En Mexico 925 in a circle with FARFAN in the center. Plateria FarFan and this identical hallmark are shown in the Little Book of Mexico Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition) on page 151; Plateria FarFan was a silver manufacturer located in Mexico City. This set has no Eagle Mark and it was purchased in Arizona close to 60 years ago, so it was most likely made in the early 1940s prior to 1948 when they began using the Eagle Mark.
This set of Sterling Silver and Turquoise Jewelry design is all hand wrought and shows magnificent craftsmanship with thick flat woven intertwined sterling chain links with raised bezel set turquoise cabochon stones. In the center of every other link spaced approximately every 3/8 of an inch is a raised round turquoise stone. The clasps are a tongue and box closure and work fine. Find out more here.
